In this time in mid-December we are usually busy with the Holidays, and busy with winter, shopping, family, friends, buying presents, etc. During this busy season of the year, I want to talk about the importance of getting out to nature.
If you live by the sea, go look out at the beautiful sky, the water, the birds, the clouds.
Take a couple of minutes, 5 – 10, and just soak in the beauty of the nature around you.
If you live by forests, and the seasons have changed, go look at the leaves, watch the sunsets happen through the leaves.
Wherever you live, go and find nature and know that it exists. Some of us live by mountains, lakes, rivers and oceans. Go and take time to soak the beauty and realness of the nature around you. If you live in a city, find the sky or a park, or a way to get away and be in nature – do a sport such as skiing, find some green or some trees, or something that is from the earth.
Don’t forget that nature exists. Don’t be busy with material things. Or too busy in the mind with thinking about things – about the past, the future, what you have to do, who you have to see.
When you look at nature you are not in your head, you are in the present and your mind becomes clear. Nature brings out the best in us. It calms us and brings a smile to our faces. Go and find it, even if it is just a few minutes.
Especially this holiday season, take the time for it and watch how it can reset you.
